The follow-up, titled Stomp The Yard 2: Homecoming, will be directed by the first film's executive producer Rob Hardy, says The Hollywood Reporter.
Released in 2007, Stomp The Yard followed a 19-year-old from Los Angeles as he heads to Atlanta's Truth University and helps his fraternity win a step dancing contest. The film grossed $74 million at the worldwide box office.
Short recently appeared opposite Kate Beckinsale in Whiteout and can next be seen in heist movie Armoured.
