Python movie to take to the stage?
Published Tuesday, Jan 18 2005, 10:44 GMT | By Daniel Saney
Former Monty Python member Michael Palin is calling for a stage version of The Life Of Brian.
Following the success of Jerry Springer: The Opera, Palin thinks that the time is ripe to unleash the biblical comedy on the world of theatre and cause more controversy.
The BBC received a whopping 47,000 complaints over their decision to broadcast a televised rendition of the show. Palin find this "ridiculous", and IMDB quotes him as saying: "I don't find it offensive at all. The fact that only a few hundred people complained afterwards shows that all the fuss is ridiculous. It sounded to me to be an orchestrated campaign. How can people be offended? Even if someone did a send-up of Michael Palin, I'd probably go and see it."
