The 15-year-old actress plays Jane in the upcoming Twilight sequel, a member of the evil Volturi vampire clan.
She told Extra: "I think it's more fun to play a bad person than a good person. [Jane] almost blows your mind how evil she is."
Michael Sheen, Fanning's New Moon co-star, recently called her character "scary as hell".
New Moon arrives in cinemas on November 20.
