Lord Of The Rings and The Matrix producer Barrie Osborne is to oversee a $150 million feature film about Islam's Prophet Mohammad.
Qatari firm Alnoor Holdings is behind the English-language movie, which is slated to begin production in 2011 with the aim of "bridging cultures", reports Reuters.
"The film will educate people about the true meaning of Islam," Osborne said.
In accordance with Islamic rules, Mohammed will not be depicted in the movie, which is expected to bring together an international cast.
Moustapha Akkad's 1976 film The Message chronicled the life of Muhammad and starred Anthony Quinn as the Prophet's uncle Hamza.
