The Funny People star plays archvillain Gideon in Scott Pilgrim Vs The World.
"I had so much fun [on Scott Pilgrim]," Schwartzman told Access Hollywood. "I was working with two people I admire so much, Edgar Wright, [the director of] Shaun of the Dead and Hot Fuzz, and Michael Cera, who in my view is the best [actor] working.
"I got to learn how to sword fight and battle and I got to go up on the wires for some flying kicks and stuff.
"It’s very stunt heavy. Edgar let us do all our own stunts."
The film is based on the Scott Pilgrim graphic novels by Bryan Lee O'Malley, which follow the eponymous hero as he battles the seven evil ex-boyfriends of the girl of his dreams.
The film is expected to be released in 2010.
