Berg (Hancock) previously said that the contemporary story will revolve around a "very dynamic, violent and intense battle" at sea.
Battleship is scheduled to begin production next year for an August 5, 2011 release. Movies inspired by Hasbro properties Micronauts, Ouija and Monopoly are also in development.
