Three join cast of Marvel's 'Thor'

Ray Stevenson, Tadanobu Asano and Stuart Townsend have signed up to portray Asgardian warriors in Kenneth Branagh's Thor.

The trio will star as the Warriors Three, who have traditionally appeared as allies to the thunder god in the Marvel comic book.

Variety originally broke the news, but doubts were raised over its authenticity when the story was removed from the publication's website. However, Marvel later confirmed the reports via its official site.

It was previously announced that Anthony Hopkins, Tom Hiddleston and Natalie Portman will also star in the picture, which will be based on a script from Mark Protosevich and Zack Stent.

Thor will be released on May 20, 2011.
