Rick Remender and Greg Tocchini's story involves new government technology that can remove criminal instincts in citizens. Avatar actor Worthington will play a safe cracker who gets involved in a heist just before the mind-control treatment is introduced.
Remender, who is adapting his comic for the screen, told Mania of the movie project: "It's really motivated by David Mamet's Heist film and James Ellroy's [novel] American Tabloid. Ellroy being an example of the kind of hard-boiled crime that has a sociopolitical backdrop and Heist a very well-thought out film that focuses on the heist itself."
Michael Schwarz and Barry Levine are attached to produce Last Days Of American Crime.
