Universal picks up Ansari film pitches

Universal Pictures has commissioned three movie pitches from comedians Aziz Ansari and Jason Woliner.

Parks and Recreation actor Ansari is attached to star in the films, reports Variety. The duo, who worked together on MTV's Human Giant, will write at least one of the projects. Judd Apatow will produce.

The first film pitch, titled Let's Do This, follows two friends who work for a motivational speaking company. The second venture is an untitled comedy about a disgraced astronaut, and the third, also untitled, is centred on Ansari's character from Apatow's Funny People.

Ansari will next be seen in the feature Get Him to the Greek. Woliner is directing the pilot Eagleheart for Cartoon Network's Adult Swim.
