The movie will be helmed by Off Duty writer Jason Mantzoukas, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
Ride Along will tell the story of a "rogue cop" (Ice Cube), who attempts to break-up his sister's engagement to an "upper-crust white psychiatrist" by inviting his future brother-in-law on a ride-along.
Cube is producing the project, which was penned by Greg Coolidge.
