Nicolas Cage has revealed that he is unsure whether he will be reprising his role as Johnny Blaze in David Goyer's Ghost Rider sequel.

It was previously reported that Goyer is currently working on a screenplay set ten years after the first film. In an interview with MTV, Cage claimed to have heard nothing about the project and refuted rumours that he has already signed up for the lead role.

"You probably know more about it then I do. What have you read?" said the actor. When asked if he is attached to the movie, he added: "Yeah, well I don't really know how to answer that, because I don't have all the details."

Cage recently reunited with Ghost Rider co-star Eva Mendes in Bad Lieutenant: Port Of Call New Orleans. When quizzed on Mendes's potential involvement in the sequel, he responded: "I don't know [if we'll reunite again]. I don't know where Eva's at on that."

Goyer is presently developing a script for Ghost Rider 2. The film is expected to arrive in 2011.
