Directed by independent helmer Patrick Meaney, the documentary is expected to be unveiled at next year's Comic-Con International. Preview footage has shown segments dedicated to his celebrated work for Marvel and DC.
"He has an uncanny ability to tell stories that are both accessible and progressively avant garde," Meaney told Wired. "Most 'civilians' that I talk to about the project still don't know who Grant Morrison is, but [Alan] Moore is definitely a name they recognise, as is Frank Miller.
"I feel like we could soon be seeing a bunch of Morrison film projects in the not-too-distant future."
Morrison is best known for his work on Marvel's X-Men, as well as his Batman and Superman reboot titles for DC. A film adaptation of his Vertigo comic We3 is currently being developed for the big screen with John Stevenson attached to direct.
