Eon productions and MGM today announced that Martin Campbell will direct the 21st instalment of the James Bond saga, 'Casino Royale'.
This will be Campbell's second time as director of a James Bond film - his first outing was back in 1995 with 'Goldeneye'.
Producers Michael G. Wilson and Barbara Broccoli said: “We are thrilled that Martin has accepted our offer to direct Casino Royale. He is an extremely talented director and we believe he will help take our films in a new and exciting direction."
Casino Royale will be officially released next year, and as yet still no decision has been made as to who will assume the coveted star role.
This is the second time that the title has been used. It was originally adopted in 1967 when British actor David Niven played the lead role.
