Studio wants Weitz for 'Breaking Dawn'?

According to HitFix, Summit, as well as fans and cast members, were pleased with Weitz's work on New Moon. The studio is reportedly now looking to secure the helmer to lead the adaptation of final Twilight book Breaking Dawn
However, the filmmaker recently announced plans to move on from the teen vampire franchise to work on Summit-financed The Gardener.
It is still unclear if Breaking Dawn will be spilt into two parts.
David Slade directed the next film in the series Eclipse, due for a 2010 release.
