Devon Graye and Madeleine Martin have also joined the forthcoming family drama directed by Mel Damski, says The Hollywood Reporter.
The plot centeres on an academic teenage boy (Graye) who joins the high school wresting team to try and pull his family together. Clarkson plays the boy's mother and Cena portrays his estranged older brother. The film takes place ten years after the death of the teenager's father, a college wrestling champ.
WWE Studios' David Calloway is producing alongside WWE execs Mike Pavone and Steve Barnett. John Posey wrote the script.
The film begins production today in New Orleans.
