'Wild' producer explains Arcade Fire exclusion

The Canadian group re-recorded the song from their debut album Funeral for director Spike Jonze to use on the trailer. However, Landay told DS that the filmmakers always intended to use Karen O and Carter Burwell's music for the final movie.
"Arcade Fire had been something that was inspirational to us from the writing process. We would play it on set while we were shooting, we cut one of our first little montages to that song," Landay said.
"That stuck with the movie in its own way. The conscious decision was that what you see on film, the music for that is all original and you don't bring to it any preconceptions you had hearing the song. We wanted to make sure that was original and Carter and Karen came up with some great songs that we're really happy with."
Where The Wild Things Are opens in UK cinemas tomorrow.
