The NBC sitcom stars are to play an unlikely couple in the film, scripted by Bad Santa writers Glenn Ficarra and John Requa, says Pajiba.
A director has not been attached, but studio Warner Bros. is reportedly eying Jay Roach (Meet the Parents), Richard Linklater (School of Rock) and Jonathan Dayton and Valerie Faris (Little Miss Sunshine).
Carell and Fey will also team in comedy Date Night, opening in US cinemas on April 9, 2010.
