According to Indiewire's Thompson on Hollywood blog, the actresses take part in "girl-on-girl snogging" in Floria Sigismondi's forthcoming feature.
The movie details the formation and turbulent career of the all-girl group in the '70s. Stewart will play Joan Jett, who later went on to have a successful solo career, while Fanning will portray lead singer Cherie Currie.
The Runaways is scheduled to open in US cinemas on March 19, 2010 with an R-rating.
