'Classic nerd' Arnold Stang dies, aged 91
Arnold Stang has died of pneumonia at the age of 91.

The character actor, best known to today's audiences as the voice of the original Buzz Bee in the Honey Nut Cheerios commercials, Popeye's friend Shorty and Hanna-Barbera's Top Cat, passed away in Newton, MA on Sunday.

At 5ft 3in and 100 pounds, he once described himself as looking "like a frightened chipmunk who's been out in the rain too long".

Stang often heckled Milton Berle during the golden age of television on Texaco Star Theater, guest starred with Sammy Davis Jr on The Cosby Show and was billed as 'Arnold Strong' with Arnold Schwarzenegger in the action star's first movie Hercules in New York.

His wife of 60 years Joanne said: "He loved the cartoons and he liked doing commercials, too... But most of all, he loved radio. It offered him such a span of roles."
