Morgan Spurlock has won the Writers Guild of America award for documentary writing with Super Size Me.
The director was presented with his award yesterday at Hollywood's Roosevelt Hotel for the film which followed him eating only McDonald's food for an entire month.
The Oscar-nominated movie saw Spurlock monitor his 25lb weight gain and health indicators such as cholesterol levels.
Last year the fast food giant announced plans to scrap supersize meals, but denied speculation that this was a result of the documentary.
