'Taken' director signs for 'Dune'

According to Entertainment Weekly, Morel is planning to make a faithful adaptation of Frank Herbert's acclaimed 1965 science fiction novel. The studio is currently searching for a new screenwriter to work alongside Morel and revise Josh Zetumer's script.
Dune, which takes place on a desert planet that produces a valuable salt called Melange, was made into a movie in 1984 by David Lynch. The story was adapted again for a TV mini-series in 2000.
New Moon star Robert Pattinson was linked to the Dune remake during Berg's tenure.
