Saoirse Ronan cast as 'Hanna' assassin

Saoirse Ronan will reteam with her Atonement director Joe Wright for action thriller Hanna, says The Hollywood Reporter.

The Seth Lochhead and David Farr-scripted project centres on a 14-year-old Eastern European girl who has been raised by her father to be a ruthless assassin. She later finds friendship with a French family and must leave behind her dark past.

The movie has been described as a mix between the Bourne movies and La Femme Nikita.

Ronan, who can next be seen in Peter Jackson's The Lovely Bones, played the younger version of Vanessa Redgrave's character in Atonement. She was nominated for a 'Best Supporting Actress' Oscar for the role.
