De Luca outlines 'Ghost Rider' sequel

In an interview with Collider, De Luca revealed that the sequel will carry the subtitle Spirit Of Vengeance and serve as a series reboot. He also confirmed that the film will be based on a script penned by David Goyer in 2001.
"Goyer has just delivered that outline to us in the studio and we're waiting to hear back and then we'll know if we can go to that revised script," he said. "But since we're starting from something already written, it's been a pretty speedy process."
Nicholas Cage has been tipped to reprise his role as Johnny Blaze but Eva Mendes's character Roxanne Simpson is "not part of the sequel". According to De Luca, the project could begin filming this year.
The producer also expressed an interest in bringing in Goyer to helm the venture, should his schedule allow it. "I'd be excited to have that conversation with David if and when we get up to that point and schedules permit," he added.
A potential release window for Ghost Rider: Spirit Of Vengeance is yet to be announced.
