Gyllenhaal: 'People think I'm Spiderman'

Jake Gyllenhaal has revealed that people often confuse him for his Brothers co-star Tobey Maguire.

According to Contactmusic, Gyllenhaal joked that taxi drivers often think he played Spiderman.

"People have often said to me that I look like Tobey, so I thought it was perfect casting," he said. "They really just made Brothers so it could be said that I look different from Tobey. In fact, to all those cab drivers in New York, I am not Spiderman!"

Gyllenhaal added that he enjoyed working on the film but was slightly intimidated by the director Jim Sheridan.

He explained: "He walked up to me in the movie and he said, 'Jake, I just want you to know, you're playing my little brother in the movie so I'm going to have to hate you most of the time'. Honestly, he was like, 'I f**king hate you!' But clearly the process worked."

Maguire has previously said that he impersonates Gyllenhaal when he is mistaken for him.
