Paramount reportedly paid in the region of $4 million to secure the movie rights to Bourne Identity author Robert Ludlum's novel and have contracted Peter O'Brien to adapt it for the big screen, says Variety.
The story involves author Peter Chancellor writing a fiction book about Washington power brokers who find themselves blackmailed into changing US policies. When real government workers read the manuscript, they believe that they have been found out and attempt to hunt down Chancellor.
