In October, Aint It Cool News reported that a "pretty reliable" source had confirmed that Superman will make an appearance in the movie adaptation of the DC Comics series.
However, Campbell has told MTV about the rumour: "No, that won't happen."
The helmer also revealed that other major DC heroes, including Bruce Wayne/Batman, will not show up in his movie.
Green Lantern, starring Ryan Reynolds and Blake Lively, is slated to arrive in cinemas on June 17, 2011.
