Butler to front 'Machine Gun Preacher'

Gerard Bulter has teamed up with director Marc Forster (Quantum Of Solace) for true-life drama Machine Gun Preacher, reports Deadline Hollywood.

The Law Abiding Citizen star wants to take on the role of Sam Childers, a former drug addict who finds religion and starts an orphanage in Africa.

Jason Keller adapted Childers's memoir Another Man's War: The True Story Of One Man's Battle To Save Children In The Sudan into a script that attracted Butler.

Forster recently attached himself to Paramount's Robert Ludlum adaptation The Chancellor Manuscript with Leonardo DiCaprio in line to play the lead role.
