Andy Serkis has admitted that he is "thrilled" to be nominated for 'Best Leading Actor' at this year's BAFTAs.

The actor received the nod for his role in the Ian Dury biopic Sex & Drugs & Rock & Roll.

According to The Mirror, he described himself as "just totally blown away" and added that he had loved working on the movie.

He said: "The whole experience of making this film with such amazingly talented, articulate, honest people has been a joy, and to get this nomination is not only a great thrill for all of us involved, but a fitting tribute at a time that we mark the ten-year anniversary of the passing of the magnificent man himself, the unique Ian Dury."

Sex & Drugs & Rock & Roll was also nominated for the 'Best Music' award.
