Jolie thanks Brad Pitt for comedy role

Angelina Jolie has thanked her close friend Brad Pitt for giving her the confidence to branch out into comedy.

After starring in so many serious films, Jolie was unsure about playing the role of Jane Smith in romantic comedy Mr. and Mrs. Smith.

"I read the script and I thought it was so fun," Femalefirst.co.uk quotes her as saying. "[But] I kept thinking that I wasn't really funny, but Brad felt I could do it. He had confidence in me."
