Marsden joins Russell Brand's 'I Hop'

James Marsden will star opposite Russell Brand in family comedy I Hop, says The Hollywood Reporter.

The Box star will play a down-and-out man who runs over the Easter Bunny (voiced by Brand), prompting him to rescue the holidays when the injured animal is unable to walk.

Alvin And The Chipmunks's Tim Hill is directing I Hop, a live-action/CG hybrid from Universal and Illumination Entertainment.

Cinco Paul, Ken Daurio and Brian Lynch wrote the screenplay, with Christopher Meledandri and John Cohen producing.

I Hop is slated for release in 2011.
