Wood wants McAvoy for 'Hobbit' role

Lord of the Rings star Elijah Wood has said that he would choose James McAvoy to play Bilbo Baggins in The Hobbit.

Speaking to MTV, Wood claimed that McAvoy would be "fantastic" in the lead role of Frodo Baggins's uncle.

"I'm a fan of his work and I think he's the right age and I think that he has a quality to him that could fit quite nicely with what Ian Holm did in the first movie," Wood said.

The release of The Hobbit, directed by Guillermo del Toro, has been delayed until 2012.
