'Ray' receives four NAACP Image Awards

Receiving the award for best actor, Jamie Foxx said: "This has been an absolute wonderful ride. Thank you, Taylor Hackford, for having the vision on this beautiful movie of Ray Charles. You took a chance in Hollywood. They said this was a black film ... but he stuck to his guns for 15 years."
This year's ceremony of the National Association for the Advancement of Coloured People was hosted by Chris Tucker at the Dorothy Chandler Pavilion.
Other winners included:
Outstanding supporting actor: Morgan Freeman (Million Dollar Baby)
Outstanding independent or foreign film: Woman Thou Art Loosed
Outstanding female artist: Fantasia
Outstanding male artist: Usher
Best new artist: Kayne West
Outstanding album: Prince (Musicology)
