Comedian Louis CK has stated that he hopes his stand-up concert film will see a nationwide theatrical release.
Hilarious received positive reviews after its premiere at the Sundance Film Festival in late January. The film was the first of its kind to play the festival.
"I really made it to be theatrical, on a big screen with an audience, so I really hope people get to see it that way," the veteran comedian told Ain't It Cool News.
Comedy Central produced the feature for $200,000 (£125K) and owns the broadcast rights, though CK has said that he hopes it goes to cinemas first.
Louis CK is the creator and star of the forthcoming television series Louie on FX.
