The actress, who appeared as Sarah Connor in the first two James Cameron-helmed action films, told DS that she also had reservations about Arnold Schwarzenegger's digital cameo in the franchise's fourth instalment.
"It was strange. I'm not sure that it was 100% successful, either," she said referring to director McG's CGI recreation of Schwarzenegger. "The film was not nearly as exciting as I thought it should be, which is funny because it had all those elements and good actors. You can take everything, throw everything and the kitchen sink in and it still was not a James Cameron film."
Discussing Lena Headey, who replaced her as Connor for the short-lived Sarah Connor Chronicles TV series, Hamilton said that the Brit actress had a "difficult" job taking over the part.
"She was very good, very good. I know how difficult it is to step into someone's shoes, or to fill someone's shoes," Hamilton commented. "I would never want to be the standard. I guess it's great that I'm the standard, but each one of us has our own special gifts that we can bring to a part. She wasn't trying to be Linda Hamilton, she was trying to play Sarah Connor. Her version if just as valid as mine."
