'Bourne' franchise future still uncertain
Published Thursday, Feb 4 2010, 11:09 GMT | By Simon Reynolds

Franchise star Matt Damon and director Paul Greengrass walked out on the fourth film last year, while Damon speculated earlier this week that the studio may be considering rebooting the franchise with a younger actor.
"Bourne is one of our best and most important franchises. Whatever we do, we're going to make sure we get it right," a Universal source told Entertainment Weekly.
Further insiders have indicated that several ideas are being explored for the new Bourne, including hiring an up-and-coming director to tempt Damon back into the role.
