Jon Favreau sheds light on Marvel timeline

Director Jon Favreau has explained where his upcoming comic book sequel Iron Man 2 will fit into the Marvel timeline

Writing on his Twitter account, the helmer said that the film will take place before the events of Louis Leterrier's The Incredible Hulk.

Both movies will tie in with 2012's The Avengers. Other Marvel adaptations, including next year's Thor and 2012's Captain America: The First Avenger, are expected to fill in the gaps in continuity.

Iron Man 2 arrives in theatres on May 7.
