According to Deadline Hollywood, Garry Marshall and screenwriter Katherine Fugate are returning to steer the follow-up, which is titled New Year's Eve and will take place in New York City as the clock ticks over to January 1.
Several of the Valentine's Day cast - which includes Julia Roberts, Jessica Alba, Bradley Cooper, Ashton Kutcher, Taylor Swift and Taylor Lautner - will be back for the new film.
Marshall was reportedly able to make Valentine's Day for under $50 million by securing the high-profile ensemble cast for smaller fees and allowing them to leave quickly to make other projects.
Valentine's Day opens in cinemas this Friday.
