According to Vulture, Bigelow, Robert Rodriguez and Let The Right One In's Tomas Alfredson have rejected the chance to helm the prequel, which centres on the genetic experimentation on apes that leads to their evolution and conquest of man.
Albert and Allen Hughes (The Book Of Eli), Pierre Morel (Taken), James McTeigue (Ninja Assassin), Dennis Illiadis (Last House On The Left) and Scott Stewart (the upcoming Legion) are now being touted for the director's chair on the Apes film, which is tentatively titled Caesar.
Street Kings writer Jamie Moss, along with Rick Jaffa and Amanda Silver, have been hired to rework Scott Frank's script.
