Etan Cohen has been hired to write the screenplay for an upcoming adaptation based on the Museum of Supernatural History (Musunahi) website, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
The film, which will be produced by DreamWorks Studios, is based on the blog-style paranormal site founded by Ernest Lupinacci.
Lupinacci claimed that his creation was designed to "be to the paranormal world what National Geographic is to the real world".
The screen adaptation will follow the curator of the Museum of SuperNatural History, who must source and protect worldly paranormal secrets.
Cohen garnered critical acclaim after penning screenplays for films such as Tropic Thunder, Idiocracy and Madagascar: Escape 2 Africa. He will make his directorial debut in Paramount comedy Daddy's Home, starring Will Ferrell and Ed Helms.
