Colin Firth enters 'The Promised Land'
Published Friday, Feb 12 2010, 00:22 GMT | By Adam Silverstein

The film, to be helmed by 24 Hour Party People director Michael Winterbottom, recalls the months leading up to the 1948 separation of Palestine and subsequent creation of the state of Israel.
Variety claims that the picture is likely to cause controversy with its portrayal of Jewish militants attacking British forces and civilians in Palestine during their battle for independence.
The Promised Land is expected to start shooting this summer.
Firth is currently starring in A Single Man, in cinemas now.
