Berman is new Paramount Pictures president

Gail Berman has been appointed president of Paramount Pictures.
Paramount, part of the Viacom media group, confirmed in a press release today that Berman "will be responsible for Paramount Pictures annual slate of films, including the acquisition of literary properties, development, budgeting, casting and production of motion pictures."
Berman was previously in charge of the Fox TV network.
