The script, penned by director Dito Montiel, follows a young cop assigned to a beat in the working class neighbourhood of his youth. All is seemingly perfect until an old secret threatens to destroy his family and career.
Pacino will star in the police thriller alongside Channing Tatum, Terrence Howard, Katie Holmes and Ray Liotta.
Shooting is scheduled to begin next month in New York City with a release date set for 2011.
