Amanda Seyfried joins 'Red Riding Hood'

Amanda Seyfried has joined the upcoming film The Girl in the Red Riding Hood, according to the LA Times.

The actress will play the title role in the retelling of the classic Brothers Grimm tale Red Riding Hood.

Twilight director Catherine Hardwicke will direct the script written by David Johnson. Leonardo DiCaprio's Appian Way will produce.

Johnson recently finished a new draft of the screenplay, which is purportedly targeted at the Twilight demographic.

Amanda Seyfried currently appears in the HBO network's Big Love. She will also star in the upcoming film Letters to Juliet, with Gael García Bernal and Vanessa Redgrave.
