'Up In The Air' author snubbed by Oscars
Published Saturday, Feb 20 2010, 15:44 GMT | By Marcell Minaya

The Up In The Air author has slammed the Oscars and has said that instead of watching the award show in the Kodak Theater, he will be live blogging while watching it on television.
Kirn wrote on Twitter: "Caution to writers: Don't expect that because you write a novel that becomes an Oscar-nominated film that you'll be invited to the Oscars."
A Paramount spokeperson told the New York Post: "The Academy has a process that we are following and we are respectfully waiting for them to allocate additional tickets. Of course, Walter Kirn is on our wish list for seats, as are producers and executive producers of our film who do not have seats yet."
Up In The Air, starring George Clooney and Vera Farmiga, is nominated for six Academy Awards, including 'Best Picture' and 'Best Adapted 'Screenplay'.
The 2010 Oscars will be telecasted live on Sunday, March 7.
