Odeon confirms 'Alice' boycott
Published Monday, Feb 22 2010, 19:36 GMT | By Aaron Broverman

According to BBC News, the halt stems from Disney's plan to shorten the movie's theatrical run in order to fast-track it to DVD in May.
Disney has claimed that this experiment is only an isolated one-off, but Odeon fears that the move will "set a new benchmark, leading to a 12-week window [for theatrical release] rapidly becoming standard".
However, Cineworld and Vue are said to have reached an agreement with Disney to show the picture in the boycotted regions.
Odeon's decision will not affect Alice in Wonderland's premiere on Thursday, which ironically will debut at Odeon's Leicester Square location in Central London.
