'Tron Legacy' to feature extended IMAX scenes
Published Monday, Mar 1 2010, 12:03 GMT | By Simon Reynolds

The movie's director Joseph Kosinski told website Slash Film that his blockbuster will include five action set pieces designed specifically for 3D IMAX venues.
Similar to Christopher Nolan's The Dark Knight, which filmed scenes using the latest cutting-edge camera equipment, Tron will expand its aspect ratio to fill out the entire IMAX screen during certain sequences.
Disney is reportedly planning to release a special trailer on the web to show film fans the difference between viewing Tron at regular theatres and IMAX.
Tron Legacy, starring Jeff Bridges, Michael Sheen, Garrett Hedlund and Olivia Wilde, opens worldwide this December.
