Director Baz Luhrmann is planning to shoot an Australian-set romance as one of a triology of epics.
After his musical movies Strictly Ballroom, Romeo + Juliet and Moulin Rouge!, which he dubbed his 'red curtain trilogy' he revealed plans to shoot a trilogy of epic films.
The epics were to include a biopic of Alexander The Great, a Russia-based movie and the Australian project with Stuart Beattie (Collateral) as screenwriter for the third, reports Reuters.
While the Alexander project, which was to feature Nicole Kidman and Leonardo Di Caprio, has been shelved, Luhrmann has been meeting with various actors leading to speculation that the Australian project may be the next in the pipeline.
