The remake of George A. Romero's horror is the highest new entry at number three, while Leap Year and From Paris With Love debut at seven and eight respectively.
Extraordinary Measures and Everybody's Fine, the new movies from Harrison Ford and Robert De Niro, weren't able to crack the top ten. Ford's medical drama lands at a disappointing number 17 while De Niro's film is behind at 21.
Elsewhere, A Single Man enters the top ten on the back of Colin Firth's BAFTA win last weekend.
