Gosling joins Steve Carell comedy

According to Variety, Gosling is to play the confident best friend of Carell's character, who finds his life falling apart as he tries to bond with his children.
John Requa and Glenn Ficarra, the directors of the forthcoming Jim Carrey film I Love You Phillip Morris, are to helm the project from a script by Dan Fogelman (Bolt).
Gosling can next be seen in indie drama Blue Valentine with Michelle Williams.
