1408 writer Matthew Greenburg has signed to pen a new adaptation of Stephen King's Pet Sematary.

Lorenzo di Bonaventura (G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra) is producing the film for Paramount, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

King adapted his own horror tale for the screen in 1989. The original film starred Denise Crosby and Fred Gwynne, and spawned sequel Pet Sematary II starring Edward Furlong.

A director has yet to board the project.
